My hair is… sunflower!
Before we went on lockdown, I… my hair routine hasn’t changed that much because I normally do my hair at home, washing it and doing the treatment one thing I can’t do is braiding different styles so I miss going to the salon.
My daily hair routine starts at night with me making separating my afro into portions then I base my scalp with a 7 in one treatment, then put the treatment/ hair food then I use my fingers to detangle it then comb it in portions. So I comb a portion then comb it out, then I braid it or twist it to it for the next day, I do that throughout (I do this every night so that I wake up with even hair same length and also moisturized) and I sleep with a silk doek on because it doesn’t soak the hair food and leave my hair dry in the morning.
The next day I un-twist, moisturize my hair with the oils I have sometimes black castor oil, coconut oil then style as desired.
After two-three weeks I have my wash days, where I do the hot oil treatment, wash hair with shampoo, condition my hair then dry with a towel, after that I put oil on my hair while it’s still wet, I don’t use heat to stretch it so I comb it in sections and braid or twist it, once done with the whole head I base my scalp with the 7 in one treatment.
My hair routine has changed now… I’d love to do braids right, doing your own hair gets tiring at times.
The challenge with my hair is… I’m struggling to get my hair flat with gel for styling purposes.
My lockdown hairstyle is… twists. They are easy to maintain all I just do it spray it with moisturizer and that’s it.
Top tip(s) anyone with your hair type can use to keep hair healthy and strong this winter? MOISTURIZE and keep your hair clean.
My favourite ORS product to use is the… Black Castor Oil.
