My natural journey began in 2010…

I decided to stop relaxing my hair and six months later I cut it (to this day I don’t know why); it felt so good. I didn’t realize how liberating cutting my hair would be. For the first time in my life, I didn’t have to blend in, I accepted the few hairs on my head and slowly began to love and appreciate my hair.

Don’t get me wrong natural hair needs attention and sometimes it just won’t co-operate with you in the morning, but it’s a labour of love.

My journey took me from an Afro to locks in 2013, but they didn’t feel as good as the ‘fro.
I decided to cut my hair in December 2016 and am enjoying my boy-ish phase.

As black women we need to learn to accept and love ourselves, flaws and all… But also remember that our natural, curly, “untidy” hair is not a flaw.
