Darling is excited to announce the launch of its new African Sunset Ombre range during Africa Month at the Soweto Fashion Week (SFW). In its fifth year running, the showcase of the Autumn/Winter range will run from 24 – 28 May 2017 at the Soweto Theatre.

Darling’s Senior Brand Manager Pearle Peane, says the range is inspired by the colours of the African sunset and seeks to make African women embrace, appreciate and celebrate being African.

Now in its fifth year of partnership with Soweto Fashion Week the talented Darling stylists will use hair extensions from the collection to style models walking the runway. They will incorporate unique, avant-garde hairstyles with their African Sunset Ombre hair range to fit into the designers’ collections.

The hairstyles will pay homage to African hairstyles from vintage to modern times Tweet “hairstyles will pay homage to African hairstyles from vintage to modern times”] — from the intricate braided styles worn in the 1500s, the big Afros of the 1960s to the contemporary styles borrowed from the past and coupled with today’s creative flair.

Currently, the world is drawing inspiration from Africa to express themselves, be it beauty, art or fashion, all of which tie into the African woman re-inventing herself.

The African Sunset Ombre collection together with the #DarlingLovesAfrica campaign will allow them to do just that, giving them the ability to create hairstyles that are trending across the globe.

Darling will also showcase weaves in different colour options, from solid purples and blues, to Ombres and blends as well as natural hair extensions that comprise of big Afros in all curl patterns.
