My hair is… glorious!
Before we went on lockdown, I… used to just wash & go!
My hair routine has changed now… and I do weekly oil-based treatments. When this lockdown period started I promised myself that I’d go back to my natural Afro with all its glory! That lasted for all of two weeks, then I pulled the relaxed bottle out. But I don’t regret it! I’m gradually learning that, despite the fact that I absolutely love my hair in it’s the most natural form, even processed hair can make you feel good if treated well! Plus the bonus is that processed hair is easier to maintain, and I’m all about convenience in this period.
When my hair products are running low (which has happened over this period) I grab an avo and some cooking oil and make the most beautiful hair mask. That becomes my doek day – I’ve resorted to one a week, because we going to snap back hard after this lockdown!
My weekly hair routine consists of two washes and conditioner treatment per week, an oil treatment, and no heat drying techniques after washing my hair.
Sure, our crowns are beautiful! But honey, we were always queens!
The challenge with my hair is… that it’s growing very slowly, and that frustrates me!
My lockdown hairstyle is… I wash and condition it, and then put hair food on and allow it to air dry naturally. One day a week I oil treat it.
Top tip(s) anyone with your hair type can use to keep hair healthy and strong this winter? Please DO NOT apply heat to your hair on a daily! If you choose to, once a week! You need Amla Oil honey! Both the red and green with Black Castor Oil in a spritzer bottle. Use that after washing your hair. Thank me later!
My favourite ORS product to use is the… Black Caster Oil, Curling Creams, Hair Mayonnaise, moisturizing hair lotion, replenishing conditioner, heat protective serum, leave-in conditioner detangler, and the no-lye hair relaxer.
